Hi, I’m Sedar Jones, owner of Functional-Fit Personal Training. As a certified personal trainer specializing in strength and conditioning, exercise recovery, tactical conditioning, and nutrition, I offer a comprehensive approach to fitness that empowers my clients to achieve their goals.
My fitness journey started at age 9 with martial arts. As a lifelong martial artist, I hold a 3rd-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and have trained in Judo, Japanese Jiu Jitsu, and Karate. I’m also an active competitor in open martial arts tournaments.
With a background in social sciences and professional experience in human resources, I bring a unique perspective to training, combining an understanding of human behavior with a passion for fitness. My goal is to create personalized training plans that challenge, motivate, and celebrate progress every step of the way.

Karen Roberts is a resident of Greensboro, NC, an alumnus of North Carolina A&T State University, and a Graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Sports Nutritionist, Forks over Knives Instructor, competitive bodybuilder, competition judge, and competition trainer. In addition, Karen is a motivational speaker, and co-host, with her husband James Roberts of “Living Fit with James and Karen Roberts”. As a wellness coach and personal trainer, Karen teaches the importance of taking time for spiritual growth, eating and drinking healthy, getting rest, working out, and having a meaningful social life, including spending time with friends and family.
Karen has helped countless clients lose weight, tone up, build muscle, build confidence, and come off or reduce their medications (after consulting with their medical care specialists). She focuses on the self-healing nature of the human body, given the right circumstances. The goal is to live a full land happy, abundantly, pain-free, and as flexible as possible.
When not working, Karen enjoys traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her husband James, and her four grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren.
